O Cais [17.04.2012 Bremen – Alemanha]

The waterfront [17.04.2012 Bremen – Germany] Near the pier of Bremen there are boats who know the weight of the absence of the sea: where birds hanging on the masts deliver their feathers to the wind: oscillating like reminders of fire and disappearing every time one of my steps follows another. There is also promise of departure. It is always by the waterfront that I remember of the ones that departed not out of love for the sea, but out of spite from the earth. It is always by the waterfront that I remember of the departed. Of those who left and of whom I can never depart. And how they are sorely missed. João Rui
